How to apply eyeliner for your eye shape

A simple mistake when applying eyeliner can make or break your makeup look. No matter how amazing your eye makeup may be – it is not complete without eyeliner. Eyeliner for big eyes

Big eyes are bigger than your other facial features like nose and lips. Since your eyes are already noticeable, the eyeliner you apply should highlight your eyes. To emphasize your eyes, ditch the black eyeliner and go for soft brown eyeliner. Avoid using white or peach eyeliner on your waterline – they will make them look even bigger. When you outline both the top and bottom lash line your eyes will look smaller.

If your eyes and big, round and doll like, make a small wing on the outer corner to try the foxy eyeliner look, elongating your eyes.

How to create the foxy eye look

1. Use brown eye-shadow for the crease going upward and outwards to your temples.
2. Apply a beige colored eye-shadow all around the eyelid and follow the shape of the crease.

4. Draw a small wing towards the outer corner an elongated look.

Eyeliner for hooded eyes

Hooded eyes are eyes that a part of their eyelid folds over the natural eye crease – making it hard to see the crease when your eyes are open.

When applying eyeliner, create thick lines close to the lash line. Eyeliner on hooded eyes tends to smudge or fade so easily it is recommended to use waterproof gel eyeliner. They are perfect for hooded eyes because they last long and do not smudge. They are also oil free and can create bold, dramatic lines easily.

Eyeliner for almond eyes

If the top edges of your iris are covered when you look straight ahead, then you have almond eyes. They’re usually confused with round eyes but they are narrower towards the corner. Below are ways you can apply eyeliner for almond eyes;

1. Use intense liquid liner along your lash line in a thin line.
2. Start at the inner corner and increase the thickness as you move to the outer corner.
3. When you reach the edge, create a thin upward flick to intensify the eyeliner.
